BC Hydro is providing a $3,300 grant to Sicamous and District Seniors Centre Society to support a project promoting energy efficiency.
These funds are being delivered through BC Hydro’s Community Grant program, which helps local organizations that are committed to making a difference in their communities.
With their award, the Sicamous and District Seniors Centre will upgrade their lighting to more efficient and brighter bulbs, helping reduce energy costs while being able to contribute more towards their community programs.
The Sicamous and District Seniors Centre strives to improve the quality of life of seniors in the community. Three thousand seniors access the centre every year and benefit from nutritious meals, seniors-focused activities and other opportunities to have fun and socialize.
Last year, BC Hydro contributed $70,000 to Thompson/Okanagan/Columbia non-profits, registered charities and community organizations.
