Sun Life Dunk for Diabetes

Over 11 million Canadians are currently living with diabetes or prediabetes. With that in mind, Sun Life has teamed up with the Toronto Raptors, NBA Canada and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada to operate Sun Life Dunk for Diabetes. The program is an innovative type 2 diabetes awareness and prevention initiative that encourages kids at 50 Boys and Girls Club locations across Canada to learn healthy habits through basketball- inspired fitness challenges, nutrition education, encouragement from Raptors players and Sun Life advisors, and exciting Raptors prizes.

Through a contribution of almost $20,000 Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Kids have been participating and  learning about the importance of physical activity and eating healthy. Through weekly challenges they can earn a Raptors-related prize! They also get healthy snacks, join in fun activities and learn about diabetes.

We are celebrating the end of the program. Based on challenge metrics, the top participants from each participating Boys & Girls Club will celebrate their dedication to the program, hard work and success.
