Hamlets Choose Kindness

The Hamlets at Vernon is sharing their kindness with team members and residents by celebrating Choose Kindness - #teamhamlets. This fun day of wearing pink, sharing hugs, words of kindness, and the exciting intergenerational (kids with seniors) activities abound, is to show our support for Anti-Bullying Day & Pink Shirt Day.

The residents and team members are excited to share their passion for kindness and they are busy writing notes of kindness for one another, displaying their pink outfits, enjoying the Kalamalka Caring Clowns, and a huge Kindness cake that will be shared amongst all. The concept of #teamhamlets is to pull the residents and team members together as one family, one team. Mark Massar is the new General Manager at The Hamlets. “There is nothing better to hear comments from our residents and our team members how much they like being here and that they feel they are part of a family. We want the Hamlets to be a place that people want to come to, whether a resident or for people to work, and that they have a lot of fun being here and that they have a sense of belonging. That’s what the #teamhamlets embraces and represents”, says Mark.

The day also captures fun photos with funny quotes and some videos that will be displayed on social media to feature what #teamhamlets means to our residents and the team members. Choose Kindness Day at the Hamlets, is to share and remind people that by all of us in our workplace, our homes, our communities, our society, sharing kindness will make a better and happier circle of life for all to embrace.

The Hamlets at Vernon offers independent, assisted and complex care – all levels of senior retirement living under one roof. Currently the occupancy is over 97% full with a waiting list in place for the best suites that fit the residents financial, care and comfort needs. Part of complex care is publicly funded and through Interior Health, and the rest of the suites are private. The independent and assisted living suites are leased for monthly rental rates in the range of $1860 for a studio and $3100 for 2 bedroom suites + $600 for spouse. The size ranges from 442 sq ft -792 sq ft. The rates include 3 meals/snack a day, weekly housekeeping and linen change with additional care services available for a fee. The Hamlets also has a very exciting recreation calendar full of fun activities for all to enjoy.
