Walking to beat ALS

Kelowna's Walk for ALS is just around the corner, and organizers are looking for volunteers.

Nancy Arbuckle says volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. on to help set up and to handle registration on walk day, this Sunday. The five-kilometre walk starts at 11:30 from the Dolphins statue in Waterfront Park. Those with Food Safe would also be helpful at the barbecue which follows.

To volunteer, contact Arbuckle at [email protected] or call 250-868-1011.

The walk is ALS BC's biggest fundraiser. Funds support those living with the incurable disease and contribute to research.

About 400 British Columbians live with ALS at any given time.

Activites on walk day include live music by The Zamboni Brothers, a silent auction and more.
