Hundreds of hours of help

The annual Day of Caring was held across the Okanagan last week, where 138 people volunteered over 550 hours at 12 local non-profit agencies.

The day of volunteering, held on April 7, is organized by United Way, who coordinates teams of volunteers to help several non-profits.

This year, employees from Pushor Mitchell Lawyers, CIBC, Tenzing IT Managed Services, Cascades Recovery Inc. and BMO Penticton all participated in the event.

In Kelowna, the Arion Therapeutic Farm, the Clubhouse Farm and Childcare Centre, Habitat for Humanity, the Kelowna Gospel Mission and many other non-profits were treated to volunteers' help from local businesses.

“We are so grateful.Cascades Recovery were a phenomenal team of workers. They made a big impression with their work ethic and great attitudes,” said Lorraine Richmond with Habit for Humanity Okanagan in a statement.
