- TOBACCO-chewing "Apprentice" Chris Shelton was arrested over the weekend outside a Florida hotel bar on a disorderly conduct charge. Shelton, a 22-year-old real-estate millionaire, was taken into custody early Sunday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. He was released after posting $250 bail. A tribal police officer said he heard a noisy Shelton in the hotel lobby and asked him twice to calm down. When he did not, cops arrested him, said Seminole police spokesman Gary Bitner. "He was loud, and he just wouldn't calm down," Bitner said. Shelton was peeved over a $20 cover charge for the hotel bar.
- ANNA NICOLE SMITH has canceled a PETA-sponsored trip to Canada to protest the clubbing of baby seals. A rep for the pro-animal concern says seal hunters have begun attacking many of the protesters and "we felt it just wasn't safe to put her in that position." Meanwhile, Anna Nicole launched her gossip column for the National Enquirer in this week's edition.

- Those Star Wars nuts may not have much of a life, but they're doing what they can for others. The die-hards waiting in line at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood for Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith -- even though it's not scheduled to play there -- are helping to raise money for the Starlight-Starbright Children's Foundation, which helps sick children and their families. So far, donations have passed eight-thousand dollars.
- HALL & OATES will be in the audience for American Idol tonight, but unfortunately, the contestants will not perform any of the duo's songs. The appearance is part of a mini-media blitz that DARYL and JOHN are doing to promote their latest CD, Our Kind of Soul. Today, they'll also be seen on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and tomorrow, they'll be featured on Entertainment Tonight, where they'll be interviewed by PAULA ABDUL. They'll tape Jimmy Kimmel at the end of this week.
