- RAY ROMANO is showing love to The Simpsons. According to TV Guide Online, he'll be a guest star on the animated series' 350th episode. He'll voice the character of a handyman hired by Homer to fix his leaky roof. In a case of shameless promotion, Romano's character tells Homer to check out a certain sitcom, quote, "Mondays, nine o'clock, CBS. They say everybody loves that guy, but I don't get it." You can check it out on Sunday, May 1st.
- VH1 is enrolling in Rock School. The network will work with British reality producers for an American version of Rock School. Six episodes will take the premise of the Jack Black flick School Of Rock to the small screen. The British producers have already wrapped production on their series, with Kiss bassist Gene Simmons educating classically trained pupils on the ways of rock. And VH1 will reformat those episodes for American audiences. Look for a late spring/early summer premiere. (And VH1 is already talking to producers about possible artists and themes for future editions, but no deals are in place.)
- The blue and white checkered dress JUDY GARLAND wore in The Wizard of Oz will go on the auction block April 27th. The dress is currently on display in Los Angeles, courtesy of Bonhams and Butterfields Auctioneers.
- JEFF VARNER, who competed on Survivor: The Australian Outback, is making a career for himself on TV. Varner has landed a job as weekend news anchor for WGHP, a Fox affiliate in High Point, North Carolina.
- The Hollywood Reporter says GEORGE CLOONEY and STEVEN SODERBERGH may team up for a fifth film together. Soderbergh will direct The Good German, a thriller about a reporter covering the Allied occupation of Germany after World War Two. Clooney is in talks to star, as is CATE BLANCHETT. Soderbergh has already directed Clooney in Out of Sight, Ocean's Eleven, Solaris and Ocean's Twelve.
