Sisters Duff Material Girls

  • HILARY and HAYLIE DUFF have signed on to star in Material Girls. According to Variety, the comedy was inspired by MADONNA's hit of the same name. The Sisters Duff will play a pair of celebutante cosmetics heiresses who lose their fortune in a corporate scandal and set out to find the culprit. Hilary will record a cover of Material Girl for the soundtrack.
  • NICOLE KIDMAN has been dethroned as the top-earning Australian. According to BRW magazine, the 37-year-old -- who was tops in the under-40 set -- was knocked off the top spot by a children's entertainment group called THE WIGGLES. The four guys who comprise The Wiggles earned over 34-million bucks as opposed to the 30.7-million earned by Kidman. Other actors making the list include RUSSELL CROWE, who earned 20.7-million -- and NAOMI WATTS, who picked up a cool 13-million.
  • ABC announced, Thursday, that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will be back for another season. The show has been averaging 15.9-million viewers per week this season, a jump of nearly five-million viewers over last year. ABC has not yet said if the Home Edition spin-off, How'd They Do That? would return.
  • Are you ready for more X-Files? DAVID DUCHOVNY is. Zap2it.com reports that the man once known as Agent Mulder is ready to take on his science-fiction persona in a new X-Files feature film that could begin shooting as early as next year. While there's no script in place, Duchovny says that GILLIAN ANDERSON and series creator CHRIS CARTER are on board.
