Big Screen For Seuss

  • Another DR. SEUSS book is headed to the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Horton Hears a Who will be adapted as a computer-generated flick by 20th Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios, whose latest movie, Robots, hits theaters tomorrow.
  • Former Dynasty stars JOAN COLLINS and LINDA EVANS are reuniting on the stage. TV Guide Online reports that the divas have signed up to play feuding former movie stars in a revival of Legends! The show is scheduled to open in Toronto in September 2006, go on tour for a while, and then come to New York City.
  • KEANU REEVES is in talks to headline The 8th Voyage of Sinbad for Columbia Pictures. The story follows the continuing adventures of Sinbad and his crew, who are marooned off the coast of China in the 8th century. Once ashore, they embark on a quest for the Lamp of Aladdin, teaming up with an empress to battle fantastical creatures and a rebellious Chinese general.
  • Michael Jackson has arrived for his child abuse trial more than an hour late, angering the judge who threatened to revoke his $3m bail. Judge Rodney Melville issued an arrest warrant for Mr Jackson, but later told the jury not to draw "any adverse inference" from what happened. The trial resumed after Mr Jackson arrived, apparently after seeking hospital treatment for back pain. The singer denies 10 charges including child abuse and false imprisonment. If found guilty he could face a 21-year prison sentence.
