Battle to Rock the Peach in Penticton

Rock the Peach Music Festival, which is taking place July 27-29th, 2012 at Kings Park in Penticton, has put together a “Battle to Rock the Peach” contest, with the winner taking the opening slot at the Festival on Friday night.

The lucky band will join a talented lineup scheduled for the weekend, which includes Ronnie Dunn, Collective Soul, Sam Roberts Band, and many more!

We received an overwhelming response of submissions from so many talented bands throughout B.C. - it’s amazing we were able to bring the list down to just 11 acts!

The contest is made up of four rounds: the first three rounds, 3-4 bands will battle it out to be the winner of their round every Thursday night starting March 15th at the Barking Parrot Bar in the Penticton Lakeside Hotel.

The 4th and final round will take place Friday, April 6th where the winners from each round will then compete for the grand prize of becoming the opening act of the Festival!

Round one was a huge success with a great turnout of supporters cheering their favorites on. The bands who took the stage last Thursday sure didn’t make it easy on our judges. These four bands rocked the Parrot and we are excited to see our winners from the first round, THE MALIBU KNIGHTS, advance to the finals.

This rock trio has played over 400 shows in the last three years across Canada and has opened for acts such as Bon Jovi, Kid Rock, Bif Naked and many more.

Round two’s audition lineup is jam-packed with killer talent as well – kicking it off is SCISSORKICK, followed by THE FLU, and last but not least CALUM HUGHES COLLECTIVE!

Come join us tonight, Thursday, March 22nd for some awesome live local talent and help our judges pick who makes it to the final round! The show starts at 8:00pm!

Early Bird festival tickets are on sale at the Penticton Visitor Centre and online @ www.rockthepeach.ca

We hope to see you come and cheer on your favorite group!
