Hitch Tops Box Office

Will Smith's first romantic comedy, Hitch, has topped the North American box office for a second weekend. Smith plays a New York "date doctor" with love worries of his own in the movie, which took $31.8m. It held off a strong challenge from the new Keanu Reeves sci-fi thriller Constantine which opened at number two with $30.5m. Constantine, based on the Hellblazer comics, stars Reeves as an exorcist who must send Satan's minions back to hell.

Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler and his wife of 17 years, Teresa, are separating. The 56 year old Steven, asked the public to respect his family's privacy in a statement released through the band's publicist. The couple have two teenage children, Chelsea, 16, and Taj, 13.

Half of Hollywood has to change phone numbers today. A prankster listed Paris Hilton's phone book on the Internet late Saturday night, and all her friends have been getting unwanted calls. Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen are getting unwanted phone calls. Others in Pariss phone book include Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie, sister Nicky and Pamela Anderson. No word how the prankster got hold of Hilton's book, but Paris has been known to lose her purse on a regular basis.

Fans who were hoping Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston might reconcile because they haven't hired matrimonial lawyers will be disappointed. The uncoupling stars are using their business managers to work out money matters and will bring in attorneys only to make the divorce official, "Celebrity Justice" reports on Court TV today.

Gidget went to heaven. Actress Sandra Dee, the 1960's teen matinee idol who married crooner Bobby Darin, died yesterday. She was 63. The star of the "Gidget" films and a slew of other teen movies died at 5:57 a.m. at the Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
