- The competition is dwindling on "American Idol." After last night's group performance episode, there are now 72 people vying to be the next "Idol" and the jabs have already started. Simon Cowell was relentless in his remarks about Elizabeth Pha - who blamed her forgetting her lyrics on lack of sleep. Little did he know the two women she performed with in this group were not her biggest fans, either. But in the end, Elizabeth went home and Rachel and Carrie were both invited back.
- Another fondling allegation has been leveled against Bill Cosby. The Philadelphia Daily news reports on accusations made by Tamara Green, a lawyer who used to model. The 57-year-old Green said Cosby slipped her two pills some 30 years ago while at a restaurant and then tried to undress and kiss her after driving her home. Cosby denies all allegations of wrong doing and officials say it's doubtful they would follow up on Green's claim or try to bring it up in connection with the first case, since it occurred three decades ago. Green's credibility is also a bit hazy.
- Singer Roger Daltrey of The Who, who received a royal honor from queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, says he didn't think she was a fan of rock 'n' roll. Daltry, whose band rose to global fame in the 1960s with songs expressing teenage working-class rage, received the CBE medal for his services to music, the entertainment industry and charity.
- Oscar winners could be denied their chance to take to the stage in a major shake-up of this year's awards ceremony. The 77th annual Academy Awards will be broadcast on February 27 from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. The revamped procedure could mean that lengthy acceptance speeches are a thing of the past. Some winners will now receive their gongs from a presenter in the audience. However, some categories will still see the old-fashioned system of stars taking the long walk down the aisle to the stage after the envelope has been opened and the name announced.
