MELISSA ETHERIDGE will be providing some of the entertainment on a Caribbean cruise organized by Olivia, a company that specializes in vacations for gay women. The animated film Shark Tale opens today, and it's packed with guest appearances and songs by big-name musical talent, including CHRISTINA AGUILERA. The movie is about a small fish named Oscar, voiced by WILL SMITH, who lies about killing a shark. That lie leads to all sorts of problems, and he soon finds himself tangling with members of the Shark Mafia, played by ROBERT DENIRO and MARTIN SCORSESE. ANGELINA JOLIE, RENEE ZELLWEGER and JACK BLACK also lend their voices to the film. Christina actually appears in the movie as a jellyfish, singing the 1976 ROSE ROYCE hit Car Wash.

A DOOBIE BROTHERS/MICHAEL McDONALD reunion of sorts will take place tomorrow. The band will perform with McDonald as their special guest at the 18th annual B.R. Cohn/VH1 Classic Charity Fall Music Festival in Glen Ellen, California. The event will benefit the California charity Valley Of The Moon Children's home and other children's charities. The Doobie Brothers will release a concert CD/DVD entitled Live At Wolf Trap on November 9. The two releases were recorded during the group's 2004 summer tour.

The Toronto Star reports folks in SHANIA TWAIN's Canadian hometown, Timmins, have their bacon in wad over the decision to film the CBC biopic about Shania's life in another town. The mayor of Timmins says, quote, "It's a horrible miscarriage of justice." The movie, which Shania is not participating in, is being shot in Sudbury, Ontario.
