Dwayne Johnson celebrates Red Notice becoming Netflix's most-streamed film

Most-watched Netflix film

Dwayne Johnson has raised a glass to celebrate Red Notice becoming Netflix's most-watched movie.

Johnson took to Instagram on Thursday, with a glass of Teremana tequila, to share the news with his 280 million followers that the movie had overtaken Bird Box, previously the streamer's most-watched film with 282 million hours logged.

"It's a history-making RED NOTICE @teremana Thanksgiving weekend around the world," Johnson, 49, wrote.

"Guys, you have turned Red Notice into a true iconic, global and cultural phenomenon," he said during his speech posted on his stories. "In just 11 days, you have made Red Notice the biggest movie in the history of Netflix.

"Like an unstoppable force, you are also making Red Notice the most-watched property in the history of Netflix in film or in television."

He then raised the glass to his followers before taking a sip and saying, "That is good sh*t."

On Wednesday, People reported the film had been watched for nearly 278 million hours. Netflix has not yet released an updated figure confirming Johnson's boast.

Red Notice, which also stars Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot centers on Johnson's Interpol agent who is on the hunt for an art thief in search of a golden egg once belonging to Cleopatra.

We're the Millers director Rawson Marshall Thurber wrote and directed the movie.
