Reluctant Tiger King star Carole Baskin has scored her own big cat investigation show.
The conservationist will front Carole Baskin's Cage Fight, in which she'll study the treatment of big cats at the zoo formerly owned by her jailed nemesis Joe Exotic.
The Discovery+ series, which debuts next month, will also feature Baskin's husband, Howard, and Joe's niece, Chealsi, who spent much of her childhood working at the zoo.
The trio will tackle big cat handlers and "dangerous operators," according to publicists for the streaming service, who also promise "many shocking moments."
Baskin shot to fame after appearing in Netflix series Tiger King, which was a huge pandemic streaming hit in 2020, but she has always maintained she would never have taken part in the show if she knew it was all about Joe Exotic, real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage, who is serving a 22-year sentence in a federal prison for masterminding a plot to kill Baskin.
A judge later awarded his G.W. Zoo property to Baskin and her Big Cat Rescue.
In her new series, she and her team will be aided by retired homicide detective Griff Garrison as they investigate the property for evidence of animal trafficking and abuse. Carole and company also attempt to shut down animal abuse at illegal zoos, with one of their cases leading them to a former drug dealer in Miami.
"This is a unique opportunity for audiences to come behind the scenes with us for an unfiltered look at how we expose the cub-petting exploiters and roadside zoos we feel are mistreating animals," Baskin told The Hollywood Reporter. "This is our real-life work within a dangerous world, and viewers will see it comes with our people being threatened, guns pointed at us and the bad guys shooting at our drones."
