Laverne & Shirley Get Stars

It's only the third time ever two stars have been unveiled at once on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The double star ceremony was held Thursday for Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams, stars of the 1970's sitcom "Laverne & Shirley." In an interview after the ceremony, Williams shared her thoughts about the years she spent with Marshall on "Laverne & Shirley."

A public memorial service was held yesterday in Los Angeles for R & B funk singer Rick James. Hundreds of people showed up to what organizers called a memorial service and a celebration. Yvette Barlowe was with the Mary Jane Girls, a popular girl group James produced in the '80s.

Detroit-area native JOHN HEFFRON has become the second-season winner of NBC's reality show Last Comic Standing. Heffron scored the most viewer votes, besting fellow finalists ALONZO BODDEN and GARY GULMAN in the show's sophomore season finale last night.
Heffron took home the show's top prize: an NBC talent contract, a Comedy Central stand-up special, and a guest spot on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno that will air tonight.

The opening ceremonies for Olympics are being held today and former Winnipeger and star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding" Nia Vardalos is in Athens, Greece for the Olympics, which makes sense since she is of Greek descent. What are Vardalos' favorite Olympic sports?
