The Zutons enlist Nile Rodgers for first album in 13 years

The Zutons enlist Rodgers

The Zutons are teaming up with Nile Rodgers for their first album in over a decade.

The group has called on Chic mastermind and disco legend Nile to work his magic on the LP, which he hints is going to be a "huge" project.

"I'm doing the Zutons' next album, which is huge because they're coming back," he tells the Daily Star.

"I'm having a really great time working with these artists and composing music for the future, music for the world that we want to see as opposed to the world that we're living in right now."

The group formed in 2001 and released their debut album, Who Killed...... The Zutons? in May, 2004. They went on to score chart hits including Why Won't You Give Me Your Love? and Valerie - later covered by late singer Amy Winehouse - before splitting in 2009.

Despite several short-lived reunions, they only resulted in live performances, making the new tunes the band's first since their third album You Can Do Anything.
