Mariah Carey kicked off celebrations for her 50th birthday by hitting the studio to record a new song.
The Hero hitmaker, who famously only refers to birthdays as "anniversaries," shared a selfie from her home studio on Friday, while in coronavirus isolation, and revealed she was feeling creative as she marked her special day.
"Starting 327 with a new song," she captioned the Instagram image, before urging fans to follow her lead and "#stayhome" during the global pandemic.
Carey received a slew of birthday wishes from fans and famous friends after posting the snap, with Jennifer Hudson commenting, "Happy anniversary!!!!!", as Katharine McPhee added, "Happy anniversary, you ageless beauty! Looking so fresh-faced here!"
The superstar's post came hours after she gave a special shout out to her fellow March birthday buddies, listing Chaka Khan, Elton John, Diana Ross, the late Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Fergie, and Lady Gaga.
"Happy anniversaries to all my super talented fellow Aries!! Cheers!!!" she wrote.
