Britney not faster than Bolt

Britney Spears was "obviously joking" when she claimed she completed a 100 metre sprint faster than world record holder Usain Bolt.

The Toxic hitmaker, who broke her foot in February, took to Instagram on Wednesday to post a screenshot of her stopwatch timer paused at 5.97 seconds as she shared words of fitness encouragement.

However, she left her followers confused after using the caption to suggest she had recorded the time for a "100 meter dash", even though Olympic gold medalist Bolt currently holds the world record for the distance, which he completed in 9.58 seconds back in 2009.

Returning to the site, the 38-year-old updated fans, admitted the post was made in jest - but teased she's "coming for the world record."

"Obviously I was joking about running the 100 metre dash in 5.97 seconds – the world record is held by Usain Bolt which is 9.58 seconds," she wrote, adding: "but you better believe I'm coming for the world record!!!!"

Reflecting on spending time in quarantine amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Womanizer star said she's been, "modeling dresses I never knew I had... tried to screen shot a picture but it didn't work... (and) realized I had my hair in a pony tail and no shoes."

"Anyhow, I got this cute video !!! I was tired of being still so I got up to go dance in this orange dress," she added, alongside a clip of her posing for the camera. "and do you know what I just learned today ??!? That orange symbolizes wealth, success, stimulation, happiness, fun, balance, sexuality, enjoyment, expression, heat, sunshine, and warmth... and that's how I felt when I put it on !!!!!!"
