Harry, Meghan to lose title?

Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, may no longer be able to use their "Sussex Royal" label after stepping down as senior members of Britain's Royal Family.

The title began from the couple's Instagram page, and led them to register Sussex Royal as an international trademark on clothing, stationery, teaching materials, books and other items. They were also expected to use the name for their non-profit organization.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and other senior officials have been undergoing discussions as to whether or not the couple, who plan to split their time between England and North America with son Archie after rescinding their royal posts, should be allowed to continue using the branding.

"As The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are stepping back as senior Members of the Royal family and will work towards financial independence, use of the word "Royal', in this context, needed to be reviewed. Discussions are still ongoing," a royal source told the newspaper.

"As part of the process to transition The Duke and Duchess of Sussex into their new chapter - planning has been well underway around the launch of their new non profit organization. Details will be shared in due course."

If the pair do have to drop the Sussex Royal name, it will require a complete rebrand, costing thousands of pounds for the couple.
