Kanye West brought his Sunday Service choir to Texas to perform for prisoners and staff at Harris County Jail in Houston on Friday.
The rapper's surprise morning show took place ahead of his planned talk with televangelist Joel Osteen at the pastor's Lakewood Church service this weekend.
Kanye and his choir, which regularly performs at his Sunday Service gatherings in Los Angeles, also plan to sing at the Lakewood Church during their visit.
The hip-hop star, who released his first Christian rap album, Jesus Is King, in October, may be picking up tips on how to run a church from Osteen after applying for a permit to build an amphitheater on his ranch in Cody, Wyoming.
Kanye put in a permit to erect a 70,000 square foot 'West Meditation Space Large Impact Structure' to the Park County Planning and Zoning office last month, and a hearing to discuss the matter will take place on Tuesday.
Plans show the massive building will take up over 1.6 acres of space and resemble a mega-church.
