The 21st annual Okanagan Short Story Contest is back.
Authors can win up to $1,000 for the best new short stories in the Valley.
Entries will be judged by UBC Okanagan's Creative Writing Program, and Penguin Random House author and previous contest winner Dania Tomlinson.
The contest is open to all residents of the Southern Interior, east of Hope, west of the Alberta border, north of the U.S. border and south of Williams Lake. All ages welcome.
Stories must be original, unpublished works of fiction, 1,000 to 4,000 words in length.
Winners will be announced in March, and the first prize is $1,000. Second place takes $400, and third $200. There is also a $200 prize for the best story from a high school student.
The entry deadline is Jan. 31, and the entry fee is $15.
