Mel Gibson Most Powerful

Forbes magazine says Mel Gibson is the most powerful celebrity in Tinseltown in 2004. The magazine has come out with its annual Celebrity 100, which ranks the 100 most powerful people in Hollywood. The list takes into account such factors as salary, magazine covers, press coverage and Internet hits. Gibson certainly generated plenty of all of them with his controversial film The Passion of the Christ. Tiger Woods may be slumping on the PGA Tour, but he's hot in contention on the Celebrity 100, placing second. Oprah was third.

'Bachelor' quarterback Jesse Palmer has been — all together now — sacked by Jessica Bowlin, the woman he chose on ABC's popular reality show. The couple split soon after the final rose ceremony, deciding to "mutually" end their relationship.

Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, Carly Simon, Al Green and the Righteous Brothers are among the celebrities who'll receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005. There are 32 inductees in all next year, and they were picked from a list of hundreds of nominations. Non-musical acts getting stars next year include Ben Stiller, Julianne Moore, Dennis Quaid, and Antonio Banderas.

Julia Roberts is going through a lot of changes. The Pretty Woman star has given up smoking since she's become pregnant. The tossing of the bad habit might have been helped along by the fact that she's suffering from pregnancy queasiness. Apparently, while shooting a scene for an upcoming heist movie at an airport in Rome, Julia felt sick and had to sit quietly in a non-smoking area for a while before she felt well enough to continue working.
