Something rotten in the State of Denmark

As I have stated before, in the present world politics and economics are sadly not mutually exclusive. I had intended to write about the ubiquitous presence of taxation in our lives. However, the serpent-like move of Christie Clarke has left me with no choice but to write about her sleazy usurping of Ben Stewart’s seat in West Kelowna. Before I go too far, I would recommend that you read my last article that outlines my disgust for the present political participants and process. I am a political atheist as I have no faith whatsoever in the system. I knew it would take very little time for a politician to exemplify exactly what I was talking about in my last article. Thank you Christie Clarke for demonstrating my point in full colour.

Let’s suspend reality for the duration of this article and pretend that an election actually means something to the people of British Columbia. Let’s simply look at the facts before us. In her riding of Point Grey, the people spoke and they quite plainly stated, “We don’t want you Christie Clarke.” She lost. She’s out. In my world, which is the private sector, this is the equivalent of being fired. Go home. Seek employment elsewhere. But this message seems to always elude politicians. They are like the annoying kid who just won’t take “No” for an answer. They beg and plead and cry until they get their own way. So Christie Clarke has said, “Screw You Point Grey, you’re not getting rid of me. I’m going to go steal a job”!

Oh yes, the most gracious Ben Stewart has offered his seat to Mrs. Clarke. Did he really? Come on people. His riding was chosen by Christie Clarke because of the strong liberal vote in that riding. Even Christie Clarke couldn’t lose in that riding. It’s a slam dunk. This has nothing to do with Ben Stewart offering up his seat. However, Mrs. Clarke would have us believe that on the actual day that Ben Stewart is officially and legally sworn into office, he turns around and resigns…? Are you kidding me? Do they actually expect us to believe this crap? Let me lay out what really took place.

Ring…Ring…..Ben Stewart: “Hello?”

Christie Clarke: Hey Ben, it’s Christie Clarke. Congratulations on your win. I have good news and bad news. The good news for me is I’m taking your seat because you are in a strong liberal riding. The bad news for you is that I’m taking your seat because you are in a strong liberal riding.

Ben Stewart: “But….but….but Christie the people voted for me.”

Christie Clarke: “I hear ya Ben buddy, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles. You can be my flunky on the campaign trail. See ya, wouldn’t want to be ya"……click.

Ben Stewart: “Hello…..Christie….are you still there…?”

The duplicity here is so thick you can cut it with a chain saw. Firstly, the people fired Christie Clarke, but she ain’t going away. Secondly, the people of West Kelowna chose Ben Stewart, but they ain’t going to get him. And yet throngs of people will continue to line up at the voting stations every time these thugs call an election in hopes that “Change for the Better” will result from the futile act of voting.

As I always say, think for yourself, question everything. If you still believe in this corrupt and crooked process, then by all means get out there and cast your vote for the next buffoon who will take no time to continue taxing you death and erasing the little liberty you have left.
