CRIME: Fatal Hit and Run Accident

DATE: November 10, 2003

RCMP FILE: 2003-56884

November 10, 2011 marks the anniversary of the unsolved fatal hit and run accident of 39-year-old Perry Arnold Walsh. Walsh had been riding his bike eastbound on Highway 97 near Campbell Road in West Kelowna around 10:45 PM. He hit the right rear corner of a Volkswagen that was making a left hand turn onto Campbell Road and ended up landing on the left side of the Volkswagen. A black 2002 Ford F150 extended cab truck driving behind the Volkswagen hit the car, backed up and drove over Walsh. Walsh was caught up under the truck and dragged for several hundred metres before dying alone on the side of the road. The driver of the truck did NOT stop. Police recovered the truck immediately from the 500 block of Casa Grande Drive, but residents of the home were and have been extremely uncooperative with them. The vehicle was registered to BF Dobbin Construction and had not been reported stolen. RCMP ask anyone with information as to who was driving the vehicle to please come forward.
