West Kelowna RCMP and local conservation officers are looking for the public’s assistance to identify and locate an illegal hunter.  In the early hours of October 7, 2019, a West Kelowna RCMP member was patrolling an area near Trepanier Road (near the overpass) and observed a large pooling of blood on the road.  He then noted drag marks and followed them to an area where an SKS rifle with a camo sling was located lying in the grass.  The killing occurred within the legal range to the highway and after daylight hours, most likely between 1:45 and 2:45 a.m.   The deer taken is mostly likely a male mule deer.  If you can help to identify the owner of this rifle, please contact West Kelowna RCMP or remain anonymous and contact Crime Stoppers.

If you know anything about this crime, or any other crime, call the Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tips line at 1-800-222-TIPS or visit our website at www.crimestoppers.net.    Your information will be kept confidential and could lead to a reward of up to $2000.00.
