CRIME: THEFT OF HEARING AID EQUIPMENT
DATE: October 27, 2018
RCMP FILE: 2018-67029
The RCMP were contacted by staff from the Coast Capri Hotel located on Harvey Avenue in Kelowna on the morning of October 27th when it was discovered a truck belonging to one of their guests had been broken into overnight. The Ford F150 parked in the lot had the driver side window broken and thieves made off with two black bags containing some very specialized, very expensive hearing aid equipment. The bags are approximately 2 feet by 1 foot in size and were marked with the manufacturer’s logo “Cochlear”. They contained items such as filters, batteries, a battery charger, assorted tools, a drying case with cords and replacement cords for the hearing aids.

On October 26th at approximately 4:00 p.m. a passing pedestrian took a video of this man snipping the lock of a bike attached to the bike rack at the Real Canadian Superstore located on Baron Road in Kelowna. The man rode off on the men’s grey with orange accents Supercycle Krossroads Hybrid bicycle.
