CRIME:           THEFT FROM MAILBOXES

DATE:             March 19, 2018

RCMP FILE:   2018-14038

On March 18th a concerned citizen contacted Lake Country RCMP when she heard metal banging near the Gatzke Orchard on Pelmewash Parkway in Oyama and feared the mailbox was being broken into.   While enroute to the location an RCMP member observed a newer white Ford F150 Supercab travelling at a high rate of speed on Oceola Road, turning on Pretty Road.  When the driver made an odd maneuver on Robinson Road the member activated emergency lights to initiate a stop, however the young male driver sped away.  The next night there were several reports of a suspicious white truck driving around the Lakes Subdivision.  Members again observed the white Ford truck (stolen from Alberta) stopped at a Canada Post mailbox.  When the member approached the Caucasian male who was breaking into the box, the man jumped into the truck and fled at a high rate of speed.  The male is described as being approximately 30 years of age, with short facial stubble and was wearing a black long sleeve t-shirt and a dark grey baseball hat.   Mail was missing from the postal boxes on Apex Drive and Driftwood Court.
