RCMP would like to remind the public not to leave valuables in vehicles, especially around the busy Christmas season.   The passenger window of a white 2015 2-door Lexus sedan parked in the lot of the Winfield Arena on Bottom Wood Lake Road in Lake Country was smashed out between 4:45  and 6:00p.m. on November 24th , 2017.  The suspect took a burgundy leather purse containing a wallet holding a BC driver’s license, identification, cash, bank and credit cards,   An iPhone in a black and purple case was also taken.  The cards were used at a local store and gas station and then used at a restaurant and gas station in Kelowna.

Sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. on November 23rd, 2017 a home on the 11,500 block of Artela Drive in Lake Country was entered and ransacked.  The thief entered the home by ripping off the screen on a small rear window and prying the window open with a pry tool before unlocking the deadbolt.  Once inside many of the rooms were rummaged through and the owners are now missing cash, a bag of change, passports, jewellery, a Tikka T3 rifle in a soft brown case and an Excalibur camo crossbow.  Neighbours noted a white Mazda 3 in the driveway that could be related to the theft.
