CRIME: ASSAULTED FEMALE

A woman contacted Kelowna RCMP to report an incident that occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. on September 10th. The woman was standing near the intersection of Kiniski Road and Creekside Road when she heard some rustling in nearby bushes. Soon after, she was grabbed and assaulted from behind. She struggled and screamed, causing the attacker to run away toward Springfield Road. The man is described as being medium height and build, with light coloured hair in a “buzz-cut” style with lightly tanned skin. He was wearing a pastel coloured plaid shirt and beige khaki shorts. The woman did not suffer any injuries from the incident.

CRIME: THEFT FROM SCHOOL COMPOUND

On the morning of Monday, September 11th, Rutland Senior School staff reported to Kelowna RCMP that over the weekend suspects cut through the fence of a locked compound at the rear of the school. Locks from a cargo trailer and shipping container were cut and the thieves entered and rummaged through all the camping gear belonging to the Outdoor Education program. Snow shoes, four ice axes, three climbing ropes, a four person tent, a Canon camera and other winter sporting equipment were stolen.
