Village of Lumby Council candidate.

I am Lori Mindnich and I have been an active resident of Lumby and Area for 35 years and counting.

Many will know me from the Lumby Legion or the Lumby Curling Club where I both work and volunteer at. You may even recognize me as the person who smiles and says hi as I walk down the street.

I have been your voice on Council for the past 3 terms, some of you have received a call from me asking questions on how you feel about the different initiatives Council is thinking about.

I do this because your voice matters, and the best way for me to effectively know what you are thinking or how you feel about something is to ask. 

And I will continue to ask your opinion, as it matters to me. Lumby's strength comes from our community and our residents. 

We stand together and help each other in times of crisis. We are still fighting for our residents and downtown businesses when it comes to flooding. 

This will take experience as well as partnerships with the Province; the Fisheries; and the Village to work together to remediate our berm system. 

I have met with Ministers and Staff both as Council and as a SILGA executive where we urged them to work with us and the Federal Government to help Lumby restore our creeks and our yards while setting up permanent flood protection, to protect our residents and downtown core.

I will continue to work with and support our Health Society on Doctor retention and attraction.

I will continue to work towards keeping Lumby “Simply the Best”.
