Falcon Ridge water advisory lifted

A Water Quality Advisory has been lifted for residents served by the Falcon Ridge Water System off Highway 33.

The removal of the Advisory  was made after consultation with Interior Health.

RDCO Communications Coordinator Bruce Smith says, the turbidity in the source water for the Falcon Ridge system has decreased.

"It's once again within the acceptable and safe Interior Health guidelines for drinking water quality.  As a result we’ve removed the Water Quality Advisory that was brought in April 30.  Customers of the system are no longer advised to boil their water before using it for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables or brushing their teeth.

Smith also explained the RDCO appreciated the support and patience of the customers on the 50 properties connected to the Falcon Ridge system that were placed under the advisory for the past two weeks.

The RDCO would also like to remind customers that Stage 2 Outdoor Irrigation restrictions are in place for all five of the Regional District's operating systems unless otherwise noted between June 16 and September 15.  The restrictions allow twice weekly outdoor watering based on odd or even street address numbers
