Travel warnings

12 p.m. update

Highway 3: Freezing rain from Anarchist Summit to Greenwood is now clear. Travel advisory is rescinded.  

Highway 33: Freezing rain from Beaverdell to McColloch Road is now clear. Travel Advisory is rescinded. 

Highway 5: Freezing rain from Exit 202, Portia Interchange to Exit 256, Kingsvale (Coldwater Road) 

Travel Advisory in effect.Travellers are advised to exercise caution and consider alternate plans.

Highway 97C: Freezing rain has cleared from Merritt to Exit 286, Junction with Highway 5, in Merritt.

DriveBC has issued travel advisories for Highway 3 and Highway 33 due to freezing rain.

Travel is not recommended unless absolutely necessary on Highway 3, both directions from Anarchist summit to Creston. 

Similarly on Highway 33, freezing rain from Rock Creek to McCulloch Road has prompted a warning to travellers to stay at home or find another route unless absolutely necessary.

The advisory has been expanded: those travelling from Westbridge to Beaverdell are advised to exercise caution and consider alternate plans. 

Environment Canada's forecast for the Kelowna area calls for periods of snow ending late this afternoon.

"Snow at times mixed with freezing rain this morning and rain this afternoon." 

Local snowfall amount: 2 to 4 cm.

Fog patches dissipating this morning. High plus 1.
