Tractor trailer fire

Drivers had trouble on slippery roads, in the Okanagan, Sunday morning, but this incident is blamed on fire not ice.

It happened just after 5 a.m. Sunday morning on Highway 97N in Lake Country.

According to Sgt. Blake Macleod, officers were called to a report of a trailer on fire in the northbound lane, near Pelmewash Parkway.

No one was injured, but it affected traffic for some time.

The highway has now been fully reopened, except for a short portion of the right hand lane north bound where the burned trailer remains parked.  It will be removed by Monday.
