1 injured in mall shooting

One person is injured following a shooting at Cross Iron Mall in Rocky View County, Monday evening.

CTV Calgary, quoting an RCMP news release, says police were called to the mall shortly after 7 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

One man was apparently taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

"The mall is currently "Shelter in Place". Officers are clearing the mall store by store," the release stated.

Calgary City Police, who also responded to the scene, tweeted this was not an active shooter incident.

It's believed to have been a targeted shooting.

"We do not believe there to be any further risk to public," the tweet stated.

The shooter is still believed to be at large.
