- Telus Corp., Canada's second-biggest phone company, said Friday fourth-quarter profit almost tripled, helped by record subscriber growth at its wireless unit.
For the quarter, Vancouver-based Telus reported earnings of $135.6-million or 37 cents fully diluted, up from $47.8-million or 13 cents in the same period a year earlier.
The latest results also included a gain of 4 cents a share related to a favourable tax settlement.
Analysts had been expecting Telus to deliver earnings of 31 cents in quarter.Full story
