Member Rewards Near Four Million

Interior Savings Credit Union recently returned nearly $4 million of its 2004 operating income to its members through their Member Rewards program.

Member Rewards are based on the level of business members conduct with the Credit Union. The rewards are calculated using a combination of service charge rebates, interest bonuses and rebates, and share dividends.

“Member Rewards is one of the many ways Interior Savings stands out from other financial institutions. We reward our members’ loyalty with a share of our profits,” says Barry Meckler, President & C.E.O, “and it provides a welcome financial boost during the holiday season for many of our members.”

As an example, a member who held a $110,000 mortgage, an active chequing account, and $5,000 in RRSPs or term products over the course of the year, could earn about $170 in Member Rewards.

“Our focus on our members extends far beyond Member Rewards,” added Meckler. “We are committed to developing enduring relationships with our members by anticipating and exceeding their financial needs, which is something they really appreciate.”

Interior Saving Credit Union is the largest credit union based in the Interior of British Columbia, with assets exceeding $1.2 billion. Through its 21 branches, two Commercial Lending Centres, and its group of companies, the Credit Union offers personal and commercial banking, and a full range of insurance and wealth management services to members in 14 communities.
