The Edmonton based company that hopes to build a mega-project in downtown Kelowna is busy lobbying local business owners.
The Lawson Landing development, formally known as the Pandosy Landing, includes three residential towers, a hotel, retail stores, and a 120-slip marina at the foot of Bernard Ave.
Through the Downtown Kelowna Association, Westcorp Inc. has been inviting local merchants to attend a series of information sessions on the development.
Spokesperson Darlene Richard says reaction has been positive. "I've gotten about 40 calls so far and only one of them has been negative."
Kelowna's advisory planning commission voted against the project, saying they were concerned it would be too big. Some residents have also spoken out against it saying it will block the view of the lake.
The information sessions will be held early next month and are not open to the general public but there are plans to hold a public forum at a later date.
