OK Real Estate Sales Booming

Sales within the three zones of the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board in 2004 continue to outpace last year’s numbers. Board wide, sales for the month of August rose by 14.6 per cent over August 2003. In terms of total dollar volume, 2004 shows a 35 per cent increase over last year at this time.

“The statistics from August show that the Kelowna and area market is holding steady,” says Gretchen Gebhard, Central Okanagan Director. “There is almost no change from July – a slight increase in average sale price, a slight decrease in the number of units from July.”

Regarding waterfront figures, "August showed seven sales in excess of $1,000,000, right up to a sale of $4,000,000,” says Gebhard. She says there are currently 52 waterfront properties for sale in the Central Okanagan zone, from just over $1,000,000 to $6,400,000.
