Popping corks at Save-On

Save-On-Foods has sold more than one million bottles of 100 per cent B.C. wine since opening its first B.C. wine store in Surrey in 2015.

B.C. Liberal candidate Norm Letnick made the one-millionth purchase in Kelowna to celebrate the company’s support of the province’s wine industry.

The one-millionth bottle came from Kelowna's The View Winery.

A recent study shows the B.C. wine and grape industry is a significant driver of the provincial economy, contributing $2.8 billion in 2015.

“We want to thank and congratulate the B.C government for having the courage to change the liquor laws to support what the people of B.C. were asking for, and ultimately, allow for this significant growth opportunity for B.C. Farmers,” said Darrell Jones, president of Save-On-Foods.
