Is there graduated licensing for a class 6 license? And what does it
involve?

Graduated Licensing Program - New GLP Rules Compared to Original GLP Rules.

New Rules "L" riders
Learner stage lasts 12 months
Class 8L licence expires in two years. Must rewrite the
knowledge test and retake the motorcycle skills test
if licence expires.
"L" sign must be displayed at the back of the
motorcycle
You must always ride within sight of a supervisor 25
years or older with a valid Class 6 driver's licence until
you pass the motorcycle skills test
You must not exceed 60 km/h until you pass the
motorcycle skills test
Restricted highways removed
No passengers
Permitted to ride only during daylight hours
Zero blood alcohol content

New Rules "N" riders
Novice stage lasts 24 months
Class 8N licence expires in five years
"N" sign must be displayed at the back of the
motorcycle
Zero blood alcohol content
If you receive a driving prohibition, you must go
back to the beginning of your novice stage. You lose
your accumulated driving experience time.
Original Rules
Novice stage lasts 18 months
Class 8N licence expires in five years
"N" sign must be displayed at the back of the
motorcycle
Zero blood alcohol content

Novice Motorcycle Riders

Original Rules
Learner stage lasts 6 months
Class 8L licence expires in one year
"L" sign must be displayed at the back of the
motorcycle
You must always ride within sight of a qualified
supervisor 19 years or older with a valid Class 6 driver's
licence until you pass the motorcycle skills test
You must not exceed 60 km/h until you pass the
motorcycle skills test
Not permitted on freeway portions of Highways 1 & 99
near Vancouver until you pass the motorcycle skills test
No passengers
Permitted to ride only during daylight hours
Zero blood alcohol content
