Shhhh... Okanagan Beauty Secrets

We are all entitled to beauty, but remember - beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Although we all recognize that true beauty is internal, the current popularity of spa treatments and anti-aging products indicate that many men and women are interested in maintaining and improving their external beauty.

The true secret is to discover what beauty is and how maintain it!

We have all admired that person and asked ourselves: what is their secret?

Well, join me as I explore Okanagan beauty secrets. I'll reveal tips, experiences, and expose some of the best-kept beauty secrets in the valley - from natural home remedies to cosmetic surgery.

Today my beauty concern is the dreaded muffin top, that annoying fat that spills over the waistband. Muffin tops come in all sizes, generally not so flattering to the owner.

It would be great if the fashion trend was high waisted jeans and A- frame dresses, but it’s not and thank goodness for that. Did you know the Oxford English Dictionary added this term to its online edition last year? Come on… I mean really!

For that reason alone, I knew I had to address this issue. How did it just appear one day and how do I get rid of it?

Although I’m a huge advocate of a healthy diet and proper exercise, I wanted to find out if there was a quicker solution.

This is my Okanagan Beauty Secret this week.  I have discovered the wonderful world of the Zerona laser! It’s totally cool the way it works! Who would have thought that after several treatments of lying quietly under a low level diode laser I would actually see a reduction?

“Photochemistry causes a temporary pore in fat cell walls which enable fatty acids and triglycerides to leak out into the interstitial space around the cells, causing the fat cells to shrink. The displaced fluids are flushed out by the body’s natural detoxifying system.”

I stayed true to my treatments, making every appointment, drinking plenty of water, and continuing with my exercise regime. I’m very pleased with my results. If you want to lose those few inches or fit into that dress it’s worth a try.

Now let’s see if I can keep it off.

Thank you, Advantage Body Clinic.

Beauty Tip 1:  The Power of Papaya

A popular treatment at spas, the papaya enzyme mask is making a name for itself. This papaya mask contains Vitamin C and E as well as enzymes (papain) that help exfoliate and smooth your complexion.

Did you know you can make your own mask at home? All you need is one ripe papaya, honey and 20 minutes.

Pamper yourself and make it a spa day or make your own mask, leaving your skin exfoliated and moisturized without spending a lot of money.
