Vees at top of CJHL poll

The defending RBC Cup champion Penticton Vees find themselves atop the first Canadian Junior Hockey League top 20 poll of the season.

The Vees opened up the season winning five of their first six games, all on the road.

They sit atop the BCHL Interior Division standings four points up on second place Vernon.

The Victoria Grizzlies (5-1-0-1) are ranked eighth while the Coquitlam Express (4-1-0-0) are 11th.

Penticton sat atop the top 10 rankings for much of last season on the strength of a 42 game regular season winning streak.

Brooks Bandits (Alberta Junior Hockey League) and Yarmouth Jr. Mariners (Maritime Hockey League) round out the top three.

The Vees finally get a chance to to raise their RBC Cup banner this Saturday when they entertain the Powell River Kings in their opener Saturday at 5 p.m. at the SOEC.
