Penticton Vees' win streak up to 21 with a triumph over Salmon Arm Silverbacks

Vees hot streak continues

The Penticton Vees earned their 21st straight win with a come-from-behind victory against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Wednesday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

The game kicked off with a 2-0 first period deficit for the Vees, as CJ Foley and Jayden Grier scored Salmon Arm.

The Vees started to come back in the second period when Josh Nadeau scored on the power play at 2:34.

Salmon Arm replied with a power play goal from Ethan Ullrick ten minutes later, once again gaining their two goal advantage midway through the frame.

Penticton then got back-to-back power plays late in the second period and got back-to-back goals from Bradly Nadeau. Bradly made it 3-2 coming on a 5-on-3 power play, then his second during an extender man advantage, after the Silverbacks were handed a four-minute high-sticking penalty.

Aydar Suniev scored his two goals in the third period, with his first on another Vees’ power play. Bradly fired a cross-ice pass over to Suniev for the one-timer.

His next goal put the game away, firing on a breakaway with five minutes to go. Thomas Pichette used a lob pass down ice from his own end to spring Suniev on the breakaway, for a final score of 5-3.

The Vees' next game will take place on Friday, Nov. 26 against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
