BCHL confirms hub cities

The BC Hockey League has officially confirmed the five cities which will serve as host hubs for the abbreviated 2020-2021 season.

Vernon, Penticton, Chilliwack, Coquitlam and Port Alberni have been designated as hub cities.

Each hub will include three or four teams, who will play each other exclusively over the course of the abbreviated schedule.

The Vernon hub will include West Kelowna and Salmon Arm, while Trail and Cranbrook will join the Vees in the Penticton hub.

Merritt and Prince George will join the Chilliwack hub, Surrey and Powell River will join Coquitlam, while Victoria, Nanaimo and Cowichan Valley will join the Alberni Valley hub.

The Langley Rivermen opted out of the season.

Players and team officials are presently in the midst of a 14-day quarantine.

The abbreviated season is expected to begin in early April.

A full schedule will be released next week.
