The Penticton Vees cap off the season with a comeback OT win

Vees finish season with a W

The Penticton Vees finished off the 2019-2020 season in exciting fashion, with a 4-3 comeback win in overtime against the Wentachee Wild.

The Vees were down 3-0 heading into the third, despite outshooting the Wild 28-23 after two periods. The Vees buried two quick goals in the top half of the final frame, with the goals coming from Jackson Neidermayer and Lukas Sillinger.

A late Wild penalty negated an empty net push, which the Vees capitalized on. Sillinger buried his second goal of the game with only 49 seconds left, sending the game into OT.

The Vees completed the comeback with a cross-ice setup from Danny Weight to Jay O'Brien, capping off a great season from the Penticton crew.

The Vees finish on top of the Interior Division with 90 points, 13 more than the second-place Trail Smoke Eaters. Penticton has the second-best point total in the entire BCHL behind the Coquitlam Express.

The Vees will be taking on the West Kelowna Warriors in the opening round of the playoffs, starting off at home on February 27 at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Tickets are now available, and can be purchased here.
