Vipers take on Warriors

The Vernon Vipers kick off the 2019-20 regular season tonight when they square off against the West Kelowna Warriors.

The teams will meet in the Central Okanagan city at 7 p.m. and Vipers coach Jason McKee said the team is raring to go.

It was another rebuilding year for the six-time national champions with almost half the team graduating from the BC Hockey League franchise.

But with a few pre-season games under their belts, McKee likes what he is seeing.

“I think one of the strengths of our team is the character in the room. I think that is obviously an important part of it. They get along well and you can almost feel that synergy already. That's a credit to the players,” said McKee. “We're excited to get the season going. I think we're prepared.”

The Vipers will have a full week off before they head top Wenatchee to take on the Wild in back-back-contests.
