Vees to open on the road

The Penticton Vees will open the 2019-2020 season with a six-game road trip, according to the BCHL regular season schedule released Tuesday.

The Vees open their season Sept. 7 with back-to-back games in Trail against the Smoke Eaters. Their first home game takes place Sept. 27, when they host the West Kelowna Warriors at the SOEC.

“Wicked Wednesday” games for the coming season have been shifted from 7 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. There are five Wicked Wednesdays throughout the season, with the first going October 23 against Trail.

Penticton has one Sunday home game this season, Feb. 9, 2 p.m. against the West Kelowna Warriors.

The Vees longest road trip of the year opens the regular season with six games. The final game before the Christmas break will be Dec. 21 against the Cowichan Valley Capitals at home. The Vees return to game action Jan 1 for a game in Vernon against the Vipers.

Penticton will play the final nine games of their regular season schedule at the SOEC as they have no road games in the month of February. The schedule for the BCHL Showcase Festival presented by Bauer will be announced at a later date.
