A crowd of well-wishers welcomed home the victorious Vernon Vipers over the weekend.
Hockey fans gathered behind Kal Tire Place to surprise the team, Saturday, after their Game 5 victory over the Wenatchee Wild on Friday night.
The 3-1 win puts the Vipers into the Fred Page Cup Finals.
The mood was celebratory as the crowd surprised the team as their bus pulled up to the arena. They waved banners, rang cowbells and hugged the players as they filed off the team bus.
The welcome home was organized by the players' billet parents. The crowd of about 100 people included MLA Eric Foster, friends, family and fans, many decked out in Vipers jerseys.
The Vipers will now play the Prince George Spruce Kings in the Fred Page Cup Finals, starting Friday night in PG.
