Warriors add two players

The West Kelowna Warriors have made a couple of player moves to bolster their roster.

Former Kelowna Rockets' defenceman Kelvin Hair was signed as a free agent. Hair, 18, was released by the Rockets prior to the start of the season.

Hair was held without a point in 30 games with the Rockets last season. The season before, the 6'3", 192 pounder had nine points in 24 games with the Okanagan Hockey Academy midget squad.

“Kelvin is going to bring size and puck-moving ability to our blue line," said head coach Geoff Grimwood.

The Warriors also acquired 19-year-old forward Eric Olson from the Brooks Bandits in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

“Eric is strong two-way player who we expect will add some veteran experience and leadership to our dressing room," said Grimwood.

Olson had nine goals, 11 assists and 119 penalty minutes in 56 games with the Philadelphia Rebels of the North American Hockey League last season.

To make room, the Warriors sent 18-year-old defenceman James Philpott to Drumheller in the AJHL. Philpott had one assist in six games with the Warriors.

Hair and Olson should be in the lineup Friday night when the Warriors host the Penticton Vees at Royal LePage Place.
